Cleaning
Sergio Quartz is highly stain resistant to common household stains due to its low porosity. The recommended option for regular cleaning is to use warm water and washing up liquid, finishing by rinsing off the surface and drying it with a kitchen paper or clean cotton dishtowel.
Stain Removal
Grease
To tackle grease stains simply apply washing up liquid and rub with a wet sponge until it disappears. Finally, rinse the worktop with warm water and dry.
Limescale
To remove limescale stains use cleaning vinegar and rub with a damp sponge. If the stain persists after multiple attempts use limescale remover that has been diluted in water. Do not leave this on the surface for more than two minutes. You may repeat this process if needed. Once the stain is removed, rinse with warm water and dry with paper towel.
Silicone
Silicone stains should be removed as soon as possible to prevent further damage. We recommend using a knife held horizontally to gently scrape away debris, without scratching the surface. Next, rub using silicone remover and a damp sponge. Finally, rinse with warm water and dry.
Ink
To remove ink stains, pour a small amount of ethanol onto some kitchen paper and gently rub the stain. Do not apply ethanol directly onto the stain. Repeat this process if needed. Finally, rinse with warm water and dry.
General
• Do not polish the surface
• Do not place heavy loads that are unsuitable for a worktop onto the surface.
• If you have used bleach cleaners rinse the surface multiple times and never leave such products in contact with the surface for a prolonged period.
• Do not leave water on the surface of the worktop for a long period.
Preventing Heat Damage
Although Sergio Quartz is moderately heat resistant items such as hot frying pans should not be directly placed onto the surface as the sudden change in temperature may discolour the surface. Use a table mat until your utensils have cooled.
Warning
Never use acetone or solvents as a cleaning product for your worktop. Tough scouring pads are also not recommended as they may scratch the surface, instead use wet kitchen paper or a microfiber cotton cloth.
